Care Services

Dorincourt is registered with and routinely inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our commitment to quality improvement enables us to drive up our own standards, in order that legal requirements and good practice guidelines are not only met, but exceeded.

We provide a high standard of person-centred support to clients throughout the 24 hour period. We are committed to a model of practice which recognises and maximises personal dignity, autonomy, choice and freedom for the individual, and which promotes independence and personal responsibility, whilst keeping people safe within a framework of assessed and managed risk.

We take staff training very seriously. The majority of staff either already have NVQ qualifications, or are working towards them. Other, specialist training, is provided on both an external and internal basis.

Each client has a keyworker, whose responsibilities include:
  • promoting the educational and therapeutic goals established by the other specialist departments
  • negotiating with each client a Care/Support plan which fosters skills in self-care and independent living
  • developing social skills and leisure opportunities
  • supporting each client to engage with specialist medical services, e.g. GP, dentist, dietician, Speech & Language Therapy, consultants, continence advisors, Well-man and Well-Woman clinics, in order to promote optimum health
Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy input is available on site.

There is a range of accommodation options, which includes single study bedrooms, independent flats and a Group Home. All facilities are en-suite, and have appropriate aids, including call-systems. Communal facilities include lounge and utility areas, a range of bathing/showering and toilet facilities and a large central recreational area, an internet access area and sensory rooms.
