Volunteers are guests of honour at Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation Resource Centre

VolunteersThis Friday a group of volunteers at Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation Resource Centre gathered together to enjoy a free celebratory ‘thank you’ lunch courtesy of the centre’s staff. Local Councillor David Baker was on hand to present certificates to volunteers.

Staff at the Resource Centre paid tribute to the volunteers praising their excellent work and dedication. Debbie Saunders, Resource Centre Manager, was keen to emphasise the importance of the volunteers in the daily running of the centre explaining that ‘we simply couldn’t function without them.’ Across the UK charities have been celebrating National Volunteers Week which began on the 1st of June and will end on the 7th.

The Centre’s highly successful ‘thank you’ lunch was the triumphant climax to a week of events during which it held its own Volunteers Week to highlight the valuable work performed by the team. Throughout Volunteers Week the Resource Centre demonstrated its work and gave out key information regarding a whole range of issues relating to volunteering in the charitable sector.
