The wet, windy weather on Friday 27th August may not have been ideal conditions for golfing but good spirited competition certainly warmed up the atmosphere at the Pachesham Park Golf Centre’s Charity Day. The course, coupled with the weather, gave everyone a chance to demonstrate their golfing prowess, sink a few shots and chip in for a great cause. Proceeds from the fun packed day went to local charity Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation.
Skilful play saw Graeme Lisle, Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation top player, break into first place with a whopping 42 points. As a result Graeme is now the proud owner of a spanking new golf travel bag. Runners up Simon Haynes and Claire Dimon finished in second and third place respectively with prizes courtesy of Golfbreaks.com. Ladies team Captain Margaret Chamberlaine gained the highest score in the front 9 whilst Laurence East won a prize for endurance.
More prizes were won in the raffle which followed and by the end of the day’s play a great time had been had by all. In the end a much appreciated £500 was raised by the event. Special thanks goes out to Phil Taylor, owner and President of Pachesham Park Golf Centre, without whom this enjoyable event would not have been possible.
