Computer aided design

Up to 40 weeks training plus an Employment Development Placement.

You will learn 2D and 3D AutoCAD, which is the basis for computer aided design in any field.

Pre-entry Requirements
An excellent standard of English, Maths and IT skills are needed, as report writing and mathematical calculations will be a requirement of the course. Open learning will be available to brush up or improve your skills if they are rusty, and a college assessment will identify these needs.

A background in engineering or construction will be an advantage, but is not essential.

What skills will I learn?

Practical Experience
During the course, you will offer a range of services to a variety of clients in the College to help you gain practical skills and experience.

What Qualifications can I get?
Level 2 C&G Certificate in Computer Aided Design (CAD) - 2D(4353-01)
Level 3 C&G Certificate in Computer Aided Design (CAD) – 2D (4353-02) and 3D (4353-03)

Employment Opportunities:
A wide range of jobs is available. You can expect to work in a variety of companies or local authorities requiring requiring AutoCAD technicians or tracers. Your Employment Development Manager will help you to make the right choices.
