Vehicle refinishing - spray painting
Up to 40 weeks training plus an Employment Development Placement
Course description
The course covers all areas of vehicle refinishing, i.e. spray painting, to help you find & keep a job in this industry.
Pre-entry Requirements:
Basic literacy and numeracy plus manual dexterity required. Good colour vision needed. A college assessment will be undertaken. This course is unsuitable for asthmatics. (Prospective trainees will have to undergo lung function test).
What skills will I learn?
- Health and Safety
- Maintenance of Plant and Equipment
- Preparation of substrates
- Mixing and application of primers
- Colour mixing and matching
- Preparation and application of top coat systems
- Paint faults and rectification
- Presentation of vehicle for customer on completion of repairs
Practical Experience:
You will get real experience to help you improve your skills and knowledge.
