JOB PURPOSE

We are pleased to announce that we are looking for a Data Protection Lead to join the Finance team, to help develop effective working practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulatory requirements.

The Data Protection Lead role is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to support the senior management team and work across all areas of the organisation. The role is critical to the smooth running of the Information Governance framework and the successful candidate will provide advice, guidance and training.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (OUTLINE)

About the Data Protection Lead role

You will provide management and assurance on all aspects of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) across QEF.

You will ensure that QEF meets the regulatory requirements from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

You will be the main point of contact across the QEF, providing hands-on subject expertise in relation to Data Protection (DPA 2018 and UK GDPR), Freedom of Information; and Confidentiality.

About you

You will have qualifications in Professional Data Protection or equivalent experience

You will have extensive knowledge of current subject access request guidance

You will have strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult or contentious issues including performance and change

You can manage your own workload and direct activities of others to achieve outcomes from a non-hierarchical position

You will hold a Driving Licence and have the ability to travel across locations in Surrey/Outer London.
