We are looking for a maintenance volunteer to help with the upkeep of our mobility centre, driving track and extensive grounds in Carshalton.
About QEF
QEF Mobility Services is one of the UK’s largest providers of mobility advice and support for people with disabilities and age-related impairments. We provide mobility assessments, expert advice and driving lessons to support people of all ages to live more independently.
What you will be doing
This is a hands-on role with varied tasks, including:
- Car care – washing, cleaning and basic upkeep of our fleet.
- Equipment maintenance – cleaning and ensuring items are in safe, usable condition.
- Gardening and grounds care – sweeping and raking, tending to flower beds and window baskets, weeding and planting as necessary.
- Seasonal upkeep – hedge clipping, heavy weeding, hoeing, and occasional larger outdoor projects.

What skills will you need?
- Hands-on and practical – enjoys physical, outdoor tasks and isn’t afraid to get stuck in.
- Team player – happy working alongside staff and other volunteers, but also confident working independently.
- Basic DIY/gardening skills are helpful but not essential, as guidance will be provided.
Time commitment
Ideally, we are looking for a minimum of 6 hours a week, but we are flexible on times and days (Monday to Friday). We’re grateful for any time you can offer.
