QEF’s Care and Rehabilitation Centre is a specialist Level 2B Community Neuro Rehabilitation Centre with capacity for up to 48 resident clients. We support people to rebuild core skills after an acquired brain injury, incomplete spinal injury, stroke or neurological illness. We also provide complex neurological care and support people needing non-neuro rehabilitation.
QEF’s Mobility Services enable people to maximise their independent mobility through driving lessons and assessments, mobility equipment advice and Tryb4uFly assessments. And MERU, part of the QEF group, provide bespoke assistive equipment as well as mini powered wheelchairs for disabled children called Bugzi.
All QEF clients benefit from our cross service expertise such as the wheelchair ‘passport’ scheme; helping residential clients to travel in their wheelchair with greater comfort and knowledge of their chair’s requirements and highlighting any alternative equipment. Accredited MIDAS trainers also upskill Care and Support Workers, so clients can be safely and legally driven in wheelchair-accessible vehicles. This training is also available to other care organisations on request.

Person-centred neuro rehabilitation and specialist care following an acquired brain injury, stroke, neurological illness or incomplete spinal injury, in a new £15 million centre in Surrey.
The service is rated as GOOD by the CQC in its first inspection since opening at the height of the pandemic. We’ve worked with 17 NHS CCG’s across the South East, providing specialist community rehabilitation and supporting people to rebuild their lives.
Our residential service is provided by a multi-disciplinary team of neuro rehabilitation therapists and specialist nursing and care staff, supported by a medical consultant and GP.
“QEF has exemplified how organisations have stepped up throughout the (pandemic) period, providing care and rehabilitation to patients who’ve suffered strokes or seizures or other brain injuries.”
Professor Stephen Powis, National Medical Director, NHS England, March 2021
