Gift Aid

What is Gift Aid and how do I qualify?

Gift Aid is a government run scheme that allows charities to reclaim some of the tax that you have already paid to HMRC. Gift Aid does not cost you any extra and makes your donation worth an extra 25% to QEF.

To qualify for gift aid you must be a resident of the UK and have paid Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax that is at least equal to the value of Gift Aid that will be reclaimed in the tax year. To allow QEF to claim Gift Aid on your donations, you must provide us with a Gift Aid declaration. You can contact us on 01372 841 151 or email hello@qef.org.uk.

You may withdraw your declaration at any time. If you withdraw your declaration within 30 days of making it we will not claim any Gift Aid on your donations. You can do this by contacting us on the details above. You should also notify us if you Gift Aid and you stop paying tax.

What if I pay a higher rate of tax?

If you pay Income Tax at the higher rate or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HMRC to adjust your tax code.

Security Concerns

I’ve received a telemarketing phone call, is the phone call genuine?

We contact supporters by phone for a number of reasons, for example, to say thank you for their support or to ask whether they might consider starting or increasing their regular donation. We also call supporters to ask if we can claim Gift Aid on their donation or encourage prior donors to give again.

We work with two external telemarketing agencies for these calls; QTS and REAL Calling Ltd.

Does QEF use face-to-face fundraising?

QEF does not use face to face or in person fundraising. We do have some collection tins that members of the public may use to fundraise for us. If you have any concerns about face-to-face fundraising, please contact us on hello@qef.org.uk or 01372 841 151.

Please note that we do use carefully selected telephone marketing agencies to carry out telephone calls on our behalf. We work with two external telemarketing agencies for these calls; QTS and REAL Calling Ltd.
