Clinical Driving Assessor (OT band 6)

We are looking for a qualified OTs at Band 6 level although consideration will be made for appropriately qualified clinicians from other disciplines (e.g. physiotherapist with specialism in cognitive assessment or wheelchair equipment). 

JOB PURPOSE
To deliver driving assessments that objectively measure the capability to drive safely. These assessments are suitable for those returning to driving, older people at licence renewal, those requiring clarification on adaptations and driving licence codes or if there is any concern around cognitive impairment.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a new and exciting opportunity to support the development of a newly opened outreach service based in Hampshire. We are part of a network of 19 assessment centres across the United Kingdom specialising in outdoor mobility solutions. You will work alongside multi-disciplinary teams in client centred environments to apply your skills and knowledge to assess individual driver safety for full licence holders and identify learning potential for provisional licence holders. You will also advise on transfer solutions for accessing/egressing vehicles including wheelchair accessible vehicles.

Training will be completed at a mixture of venues – our main site at Carshalton, plus established outreaches in Leatherhead and Worthing, plus the primary workplace at Southampton.

This role is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks which will include an Enhanced with children and adults barred list check by the DBS (at the cost of QEF if you are not already a member of The Update Service).
