JOB PURPOSE
QEF Care and Rehabilitation is a neuro rehabilitation centre for adults. Are you looking for a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge and clinical skills in neuro rehabilitation? The post holder will have the wonderful opportunity to provide neurorehabilitation to clients with acquired brain injury, stroke and other neurological conditions within a large multidisciplinary team. Whilst you will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of clients, this will be under the direction of your clinical supervisor the wider Occupational therapy team. You will liaise with other members of the team to ensure continuity and consistency regarding clients’ management.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced MDT where you will be managing your own neurological clinical caseload and working in both individual and group settings on clients’ goals using functional and impairment-based treatment methods.
You will assess, plan and carry out individual Occupational Therapy treatment programmes within the Centre and in the community. We have a variety of living environments including bedsits and independent living flats.
You will carry out access and home visits with support as appropriate, including liaising with social services, care agencies and relatives.
There will be the opportunity to develop skills in communicating with clients with a range of physical, cognitive, and communication difficulties.
Providing feedback and advice is a key part of the role, to clients and other members of the multi-disciplinary team regarding the assessment and treatment of a client’s physical, functional, cognitive, sensory and perceptual abilities.

This role is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks which will include an enhanced adult barred list check DBS (at the cost of QEF if you are not already a member of The Update Service)

ABOUT YOU
This is the job for you if you have:
• a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and have membership of the Health and Care Professions council.
• experience of working in neurology and working in a multidisciplinary team either as a student placement or at post graduate level.
• the ability to demonstrate efficient and effective self-management including use of time, organisation, planning and problem solving.
• your own initiative to be able to prioritise caseload and use clinical reasoning to make sound decisions and problem solve.
• the ability to use self-reflection to improve clinical skills.
• the ability to be empathetic and passionate in working with clients with complex physical, cognitive and psychosocial needs and their families.
• passion about this area of work
