Chairman Announcement from QEF

Peter Gordon, Chair of Trustees at QEF, has decided to step down from the role at the end of May 2021, having been a Trustee for over 8 years and Chair for nearly 4 years. After an enormously demanding period serving QEF, Peter welcomes the opportunity to rebalance his service in the voluntary sector and personal life but remains absolutely committed to QEF’s clients and the QEF cause.

Peter’s leadership, drive and pure human effort has galvanised and guided QEF’s Trustees and Senior Management Team through a series of challenges during his time as Chair, including the impact of a global pandemic. Peter’s wider involvement and networking in the health & social care landscape in Surrey and beyond ensured QEF continues to be recognised as an important partner and provider of services to enable people, whatever their disability or condition, to live their lives to the fullest extent possible.

QEF’s Trustees thank Peter for his dedicated service to QEF for over 8 years.  The Trustees have appointed John Denning, QEF’s longest serving Trustee, to act as interim Chair until a new Chair is appointed.  John says, “Peter’s contribution to QEF cannot be underestimated.  The challenges faced while Peter was Chair were significant and QEF therefore owes Peter an enormous debt of gratitude for his leadership and drive which has allowed us to continue to provide much-needed services to people with physical and learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries.”

QEF wish Peter all the best for the future.
