What do I need to bring with me when I attend my assessment?

If you are coming for a driving assessment it is important to bring your driving licence if you have it. If you do not have a driving licence bring some proof of identification. You should also bring any medication you need to take during the time you are with us, together with any glasses needed for driving and reading and hearing aids if applicable.

How long will my assessment take?

You should allow four hours for your assessment to be completed.

My son/daughter wants to learn to drive. They have a disability, what should I do?

To enrol in QEF’s driving school all clients need to have a QEF driving assessment first. Complete the driving assessment application form and send it in for our review. A member of our bookings team will be in touch to discuss next steps.

If you don’t feel an assessment is necessary, visit www.disabilitydrivinginstructors.com to contact a driving instructor near you.

Do I need a licence before I come for an assessment?

We have an off-road private track for driving, therefore a licence is not needed to take the assessment. However we will not be able to take you out onto the public roads, which may mean that you will be required to come back when you do have licence cover to take an on-road drive; if this is appropriate to your assessment.

Can I buy any food if I need it?

Water, tea and coffee are available on site. Snacks are usually available through a vending machine but please don’t rely on this as it is not always fully stocked.

How much will my assessment cost?

This varies depending on the type of assessment involved and whether you have been referred by a third party. Our team member will confirm the cost to you at the time of booking.
