International Nurses Day 2025 is here, and we wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate the unwavering dedication and exceptional contributions of our nursing team here at the Care and Rehabilitation Centre (CRC). This year’s theme, ‘Our Nurses, Our Future’, perfectly captures the spirit of our work and highlights the vital role our nurses play in driving the future of compassionate, high-quality care within our service.
With this theme, we wanted to focus on ways win which our Nurse’s have been progressing within the industry. This could be through training, workshops, discussions or anything that can be deemed as enabling them to be the best Nurse they can be.
Our Care and Nursing Manager Muriel was delighted to tell me about all of the ways that the nursing team achieves this;
“We have a ‘Nursing topic board’ in one of the meeting rooms, which we put a new topic related to care and nursing each week. This board is designed to help create discussion and help educate our team on new topics and ideas. We will also prompt our Nurses to sit down and discuss their thoughts and ideas on these topics. The process is informal, as we think this gives our team the best space to be honest and creative.”
The importance of discussion amongst peers cannot be underestimated, as some of the greatest ideas can come from a simple conversation. By helping to provide a platform for our Nurses to discuss freely, we really can see just how passionate and proactive our team is. This has helped find ways to improve the quality of service that we provide, but also to enhance our team’s knowledge for the future.
Muriel also said “Personally, I have been undertaking some specific training in relation to our new Amputee pilot pathway. The requirements of amputees are something that requires specific knowledge and training. It was a 4 day course which addressed the needs of clients with amputations as well as best practice for working with issues closely associated with amputations, such as diabetes. I undertook a separate course on wound management and dressings, which was fascinating. I really feel these courses have given me and my team the best chance at making this pilot pathway a success, and has given me a whole new set of knowledge and understanding.”
This kind of specific training is exactly what we think ‘Our Nurses, Our Future’ is all about. Investing in the knowledge and career progression of our team, means they have the best skills possible to provide an incredible service.
What sets us apart at QEF is our culture of continuous learning and adaptation. Our nurses said “We thrive in an environment where every day presents new challenges and opportunities for growth. Whether it’s collaborating with other health professionals or learning directly from our clients”. Our nursing team embraces the dynamic nature of their work with enthusiasm and dedication.
As we celebrate International Nurses Day, let us take a moment to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of our nursing team at QEF’s Care and Rehabilitation Centre. Their unwavering dedication, compassionate care, and relentless pursuit of excellence exemplify the very best of nursing practice. Together, they embody the spirit of ‘Our Nurses, Our Future’, paving the way for a brighter, healthier future for all our clients.
Thank you to our nurses for their tireless commitment to the well-being and potential of every individual we serve. Happy International Nurses Day!
