Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) and The Lunch Committee have great pleasure in inviting you to our Ladies Autumn Lunch on Thursday 24th October at The Duchess Stand, Epsom Downs Racecourse.

As always, there will be a shopping fayre from 10:00 – 13:00 where you can shop the finest stalls that Surrey and beyond have to offer!

Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan


Sharon was born in Liverpool, and went to RADA at 17. Among her notable early roles was Rachel in Granada’s Shabby Tiger in 1973. The same year, she was in the original production of Habeas Corpus at the Lyric Theatre in London. In 1977 she joined the cast of Zeffirelli’s Filumena where she met her future husband, Trevor Eve. Various stage and television work followed, including the highly successful series The Flame Trees of Thika. She was then cast with Anthony Head in the long-running Nescafe Gold Blend adverts. Other stage and television work followed and in 2006 she joined the cast of BBC’s hit medical drama Holby City. Sharon’s film credits include The Bank Job, She’s Out of My League, and Untitled, for which she received the Best Lead Actress award at the Nice International Filmmaker Festival. She and Trevor have been married for almost forty-five years and they have three children, including actress Alice Eve. A serious health scare provided the impetus for Sharon to create her own brand of skincare products, FaceWise, which offers low salicylate and salicylate-free solutions to those with sensitive skin and potential salicylate overload.Screenshot 2024 04 19 at 14.35.29

Born near Birmingham, Trevor was training to be an architect when he decided to go to RADA and become an actor. He went on to win the academy’s prestigious Bancroft Gold Medal. In 1974 he played Paul McCartney in John, Paul, George, Ringo…and Bert which transferred to the West End.

After appearing the Laurence Olivier Presents version of Hindle Wakes, he was cast in Zeffirelli’s Filumena where he met his future wife, Sharon Maughan. In 1979 he became a household name as the eponymous character in Shoestring for the BBC, and in the same year starred alongside Laurence Olivier and Donald Pleasance in the film Dracula. In 1982 he won an Olivier Award for his performance in the West End version of Children of a Lesser God. He won his second Olivier Award for his portrayal of Astrov in Uncle Vanya. Amongst much other well-known television work, in the 2000s Trevor starred in nine series of the BBC’s crime drama Waking the Dead as DSI Peter Boyd. He has been the executive producer of several television series, including Kidnap and Ransom and The Holiday. Trevor’s first novel, Lomita For Ever, was published in 2019.He and Sharon have been married for almost forty-five years and have three children, including actress Alice Eve.

We kindly ask if you could support QEF by bringing along one item (or more) of clothing or a handbag to donate to QEF for resale across our retail stores to the Autumn Lunch. There will be a concierge service at the registration desk to collect your donations. Please note we also accept men’s clothing!
