“Anything that helps to increase people’s independence and improve life skills I am in support of, so I was delighted when QEF asked me to be part of this event. The good thing about gardening is that is doesn’t differentiate between people based on their mobility and abilities – there is something for everyone and it is very therapeutic as whatever you produce, it comes from your own efforts. I always say that gardeners are the friendliest people in the world, so I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and answering their questions. This time of year, I imagine everyone will want to know how to ward off slugs and get some tips on starting off their veggie plots and window boxes. It’s a very busy time to be a gardener, so I would say to make sure whatever you do, you are able to maintain it and don’t take on too much.” – Jim Buttress
