Racing to raise funds!

Team QEF joined Berkeley Homes (Southern Ltd) at the Daytona Go Karting track at Sandown Park for an exciting race to raise funds for Bugzi powered wheelchairs for children with disabilities.

This event raised over £15,000 and as well as the team from Berkeley Homes, additional teams representing other companies that support QEF raced against each other in a three-hour endurance event. The funds raised will allow QEF partner charity, MERU to build even more Bugzis, which have changed the lives of children with disabilities and enabled them to experience independent mobility for the first time.

Ben Annetts, Sales and Marketing Director, Berkeley Homes (Southern Ltd) said:

“In 2016 thanks to our suppliers, staff and the Berkeley Foundation we were able to raise £30,000 for MERU’s work with severely disabled children. We hope to beat that this year.

“This Go Karting evening, donating furniture to sell through QEF retail shops, staff fundraising such as a “Bake off” competition helped raise funds to build five bugzi powered wheelchairs for children in the last year. Berkeley Homes (Southern) and the Berkeley Foundation are delighted to work in partnership with MERU and make a real and lasting difference to individuals lives”
